week 8
The focus of week 8 involves working with browser inconsitencies and adding RSS subscription capabilities to your web site. Browser inconsistencies are the result of browser manufacturers not fully complying with web standards. While there are "hacks" available that avoid the browser issues, focusing on well-formed practices of coding also can prevent most problems. The developer community participates in documenting browser issues as well as valid methods of dealing with them. RSS syndication is becoming more important in mainstream web sites and the ability to syndicate specific sections of your web site is available by creating an XML/RSS document that offers your content to aggregators and other collection tools.
